7.Will it break?
While we make every element with precision to the highest standards of our Structural Integrity pledge, each piece is a tiny work of art, made by hand, and should be treated accordingly. Please refer to our Forever Love care advice.
8.Will it change colour?
Focal pieces are permanently annodised, metal accents are silver-, gold-, or ink-gilded, and all components are nickle, lead, and cadmium free and hypo-allergenic. While we use the highest quality gilded accents, the plating on even the best pieces is fragile, which is why we developed our Forever Love guidelines. Unfortunately for some, the pH of an individual’s skin may affect the look of our gilded accents, despite our best intentions, and if you think you may be in that category, we also offer a Lifetime Enjoyment Promise by investing in an upgrade of Sterling Silver, Blackened Sterling Silver or 14KT Gold-Filled.
14Kt Gold-Filled is produced by fusing a layer of 14Kt Gold to a suitable supporting metal (or alloy) using equipment that carefully controls pressure, heat and time. The core metal is there to give the piece added weight and strength. The bond produced is permanent. Gold-Filled has been referred to as the ‘Gold of the Future’ because it offers all the same physical characteristics as solid Gold such as beauty, durability, and strength, but at a fraction of the cost. Since the Gold is on the outer surface area it is nearly impossible to tell the difference between solid Gold and Gold-Filled, except when it comes to the cost. Unlike plated (aka electroplated or “dipped”) metals, Gold-Filled is legally required to contain 5% or 1/20 gold by weight.
